It's Kyle :), Just been getting back into the hobby after a little break. Decided to go back to my roots with some Dwarf Rainbows and a simple 40gal tank. I am still using my old fluval 2.0 LED and a Stingray for up front. Tossed in some fluval stratum and some petrified rocks I had gotten from the auctions and another store.
This tank is only 15 days young :) I am having lots of success plant wise with this tank, I think part of the reason im doing so much better than myself years ago is higher light, shorter duration. Ive been running my lights at near full brightness with a short 6hr duration. Still dosing Thrive+ and Easy Iron slowly overtime just a pump every 4-5 days.
This is day 0 (OCT 10th) I had just turned on the lights and added plants. This tank was cycling in the dark for a couple weeks before I turned on the lights.

On day 10 I decided to do a trim, the plants had grown tons and the stem plants were almost at the surface. This is before the trim.

This is today (OCT 25th), the plants are starting to recover from their trimming. A lot of the S repens are almost ready to be retrimmed again as they're 2-3 layers tall. Its like this tank is running at super speed plant wise.

The forum seems to not like image links, image embeds, or anything to do with images. I dumped some of the photos in the attachments if you wanted to look at em
